Play Out days have resumed on Marsden Road. They will run every first Friday of the month until September. Dates are June 5th, July 3rd, August 7th, September 4th, 4-7pm.

The road will be closed so that kids can play in the streets without the fear of traffic. It's a lovely opportunity to get to play with local children that may go to other schools and to get to know the people we all live near to. The fantastic Marsden Road Nature Garden will also be open to everyone and will have pond dipping and other fun activities available.

Everyone welcome, please bring outdoor games (skipping ropes, hula hoops, chalk for hopscotch) and a packed tea/snacks.

If you have any questions about setting this up on your own road, please let me know as I'd love to see this happen all over Southwark.

That's great and thanks for the link.

I contacted the Council a few years ago about setting one up for my road (and surrounding roads) but didn't get very far so I'm pleased to see that they are now encouraging and promoting applications.

I may come back to you for advice if I try to pursue it again.

    • I thought the most they sell in terms of hot food at londis is like pastries and sausage rolls and for hot drinks its like costa coffee but its always a convenience store. Doesn’t look too bad in my opinion considering that shop has been closed down ever since i moved here
    • Hi Busterb, Yesterday I turned up with a scanner & towels, hoping to take a deceased tabby down to TNV. The body was moved moments before arrival & had not been turned in to any vets, rescues or animal hospitals. I am wondering if this could have been the same cat & if someone just tried to move the tabby further away from the road. Please be warned, viewers discretion is advised. but this is what the deceased tabby looked like: https://www.facebook.com/groups/900015513463302/permalink/3729980853800073/  In any case, if you haven't been able to get someone to scan or take down to a vet, I can scan tomorrow morning.
    • Wholeheartedly recommend Aria. He was polite, responsive and sorted our leak, from an old tap on an old plumbing system, with no bother and on same day.
    • GP not willing to refer you on? Say, to King's or similar. Odd
