Did anyone get an email recently from first utility suggesting that their monthly direct debit would have to go up because of a massive overspend? I did. They had emailed me that I would have overspent by over ?300 by the end of last month and proposed raising my DD by 60% . I rang them and got a different story. It was a mistake, I was about ?20 IN CREDIT and they had already taken one increased DD. So they have promised to restore my DD amount to the original. Just wondered of anyone had a similar story.

    • Well thanks for enriching the conversation.  Would you chuck Fah - rage in too for his tax avoidance on his property?   I expect it was lead story on Jeremy Vine too.  Doesn't make it a story, just a bit more of BBC tabloid style sensationalism.  There are numerous real news stories in the UK and across the world.  And now, apt for Halloween, you have summoned up the ghost of Louisa. So for the third time, will you now eat humble pie?
