maxxi Posted September 10, 2011 Share Posted September 10, 2011 I meant it as in burke but without the 'r' sound (hard to spell if you think about it)- Same goes for cook, look etc. I have no problem with 'luke' or any other genuinely accent/region derived pron. but when people pronounce it as though they were 5 years old and fail to rhyme book with rook (I know, that doesn't really help)it grates.If this thread had said 'tiny little things that cause you rational rage' I would go further.
