We've traipsed round the major (and not so major) museums and galleries in London over and over and are looking for inspiration for this half term and beyond for an 11 year old.

Either in London or day trips.

Just booked Udderbelly comedy which looks promising. Another tip someone has given me is the Olympic park swimming pool sessions.

Seems a tricky age to find things that aren't "boring" or "too young".

Thanks Redjam. Have just booked the spiders for this Friday!

Would recommend the Udderbelly comedy for kids too, despite the fact my 11-year old was one of the oldest there. There are more dates in June and the one I went to was only half full.

    • Not local, I know but I swear by the Algerian Coffee Stores in Old Compton St. Fantastic old shop, great staff and huge selection of great coffees.
    • Asking people to post cheques to them does make them sound like something from the previous century tbh.
    • I remember the Tuesday property supplement that must’ve earned them a few bob - all disappeared when right move et cetera put it all online.  I think Southwark news took the stories ( and the readers) that SLP didn’t touch
    • Shame. I wondered why they were asking for donations to help with running costs in last weeks issue. Been buying it for many years but only recently was thinking of giving it a miss as over the past couple of years it had become too politicised. Their South London Opinion page was particularly biased.
