Recommended Posts

There are three single rooms available immediately on the first and second floors, overlooking Stuart Road and the allotments beyond. The rooms are furnished with a double bed, wardrobe and bedside cabinet and have their own wash basins. There are bath/shower rooms and a good-sized kitchen/diner with fridge-freezer, washing machine and dishwasher on each floor.

Rents are ?496/?540 pcm, inclusive of all bills, including gas central heating and wireless internet. We are offering six month minimum tenancies, which can be extended.

Stuart Road is very close to Peckham Rye Park and common and is served by buses 343 and 484 to Peckham, Camberwell (King?s College Hospital), Elephant & Castle, New Cross and Lewisham. Trains from Nunhead, Peckham Rye, East Dulwich or Honor Oak Park stations offer easy access to Central London.

The Ivy House is London's first co-operatively owned pub, the first pub to be listed as an Asset of Community Value, and the first building in the UK to be bought for the community under the provisions of the Localism Act.

    • I imagine Franco Manca's business dropped off quite a bit when Yard Sale opened (though isn't Yard Sale delivery only?) But in any case, both of those are chains.
    • Thanks. I'll call them shortly as I could get there without the car.  That's good of Sainsburys! We've done the apple pie and tart thing, an ongoing muesli thing and the coleslaw thing - just not sure what effect all the sugars are having on our digestive tracts.
    • One time Sainsbury's delivered 6 bags of apples instead of 6 single apples which I couldn't possibly get through. I phoned Pecan in Peckham to ask if they would accept them despite their website stating no fresh foods. I must have phoned at just the right time as they were happy to accept them. Sainsburys gave me a refund so the donation was courtesy of them. Or you could experiment with all kinds of apple recipes and write a blog about it
    • There's a food bank off Dog Kennel Hill. Albrighton Community Fridge. https://www.albrightoncommunityfridge.org/ I'm sure they would welcome them, but maybe check first, as they don't actually mention fresh fruit on their website? But apples aren't that perishable. Drop off seven days a week 9 - 5. Be warned if you are going by car, parking can be very difficult, easiest if there are two of you so one person can take the food in while the other can move the car if necessary.
