Renata Hamvas
Hi Mrs Cuckoo, to have a chance to win a Secondary appeal, you need either to show the admissions criteria for the school were incorrectly applied to your application (eg their applied their safe walking distance assessment incorrectly) or show that Charter can provide in a way for your child that no other local school does eg if it were a performing arts speciality school and your child was talented in this field, that may be a reason to appeal. Be warned that only a low proportion of appeals are successful, far more places are secured via the waiting list. landsberger
I can echo Renata's views. Too many people go to appeals without actually stating a case. All the school needs to do to win is to prove they applied the criteria correctly. It's no "case" to say you wanted to go there but didn't get a place. All they need to do is to provide a list of 180 people either with siblings or closer to the school than you, and that's it.
