Private Building Control inspector

Hi Jess,

I have used Andy Travers (Andrew Travers) of Quadrant Building Control, I got him through recommendations on this forum. His fee is reasonable for a private building control. You would expect to pay about 20-25% more than the council but you get to deal with just one person through out your project, rather than the council, you just never know who you might get each time they come to inspect your project.

In fact, he is due to come back for final inspection on our flat in East Dulwich soon. He is helpful and communicative. I would recommend him. Have a look at the Quadrant website.

Hope this helps.

Willy.

    • Try pavement, this is London, not the US. The Mayor increased his proportion of council tax in 2025/26 to pay for "more" haha PC's but my understanding is they were cut not increased. A rouse by the Mayor to take more and give nothing in return.  Troubling and far too common here.  Just be careful where you get it out
