A new GP walk in centre opens in Peckham on May 4. Open from 8am to 8pm everyday including weekends, for the first time in Southwark you will be able to drop in and see a GP or nurse without an appointment. The centre has a wide range of services available including:


examinations and treatment

advice on health problems

prescriptions for medicines

muscular aches and sprains

mental health issues

contraceptive services

stopping smoking

minor ailments


Dr Mark Ashworth, from the Hurley Group Practice is running the service: The new walk in service is available to everyone whether you're registered with us or not."


"It's a great alternative to going along to A&E if you have a minor illness or injury, allowing them to do what they do best, treating the seriously injured or sick.

Southwark's GP walk in centre can be found at the Lister Health Centre, 101 Peckham Road London SE15 5LJ.

    • Those studies are ten years old. I wonder if there is anything more recent. Also, I haven't looked at them, but from what you say,  the studies apparently asked people if THEY thought they were "racially prejudiced". For several  reasons, on the face of it that isn't likely to produce an accurate indication of the level of actual racial prejudice in that sample. Also, how was "racial prejudice" defined? And "racist attitudes"?
    • I'd say hold on to it in case you need it. There may be a time when it helps you get around more easily. You'd know if that's easily done, if you've got somewhere to park it etc
