Oh dear. :'(

Poor Bellenden Belle and poor Green & Blue.

Bellenden Belle offered an olive branch and said that she didn't mean for anyone to shun the place, she likes the place, she enjoyed her food and drink, it was reasonably priced and the service was 'splendid'. Bellenden Belle - you certainly haven't deserved some of the comments you have received. Please come back!

Green & Blue - poor you. A thread was started and whatever were the rights or wrongs of that thread (I'm not going to offer my opinion because that's not going to help anyone at this stage), I think many will agree that the G&B gang have done a fantastic job with the shop/bar and that you have become a real part of the ED community. (tu):))

Keep up the good work G&B gang!!

It is beginning to look like a record got broken somewhere, but do please carry on doing what you do.

I have to say I agree with Bob, that if I as a customer have some sort of gripe then perhaps a first port of call would be to take it up with the respective organisation themselves rather than immediately sound off on a public forum.

I shall henceforth withold my criticisms of the Palmerston until I've taken it up with them personally, though the Vale shall continue to be the target of my ire forevermore.

I've not been to G&B - yet. But any place that spends time thinking up ways of getting champagne to their customers at a lower price is bound to go down well in my book - because I love champagne!! (The whole *Bob* v BB thing was, as someone said earlier, painful to watch and I'd definitely have to sit on the fence in terms of rights and wrongs rather than offer any opinion..)

I actually think G&B being upfront and open about their sales tactics quite refreshing.

Traditionally business favours secrecy and being two-faced - I'd much prefer people to be open and honest.

We know they're in business, we know they have to make a living, and we know the life of small business is not easy. And a good deal is a good deal!

    • The discussion has been about the silence from certain posters about Truss's disastrous actions. Your 'gotcha' is merely a deflection.
    • The banking crisis was a global event which enabled the Tories victory and to this day is somehow used against Labour  covid and furlough are under events which impacted economy.  But guess what? Not just the uk economy! energy prices a result of the Russian invasion, something Johnson said would never happen and as we seek to remove ourselves from non-renewable and Russian controlled natural resources, we have Tories and reform condemning Labour for pursuing renewables. Something most other sane countries are doing  We must also not forget the mad relative in the attic.  Brexit.  Something which contributed massively both to the black hole and to the foreseeable future lack of growth  (this is something starmer has also bizarrely tied himself to. Presumably in an attempt to placate the media/loons who think it was a good idea but which will fail in both aims)
    • Ah, so unforeseeable events didn't add to the "black hole"  Gotcha
