Just read this in the Daily Mail - horrible attack, and the woman's life still in danger. There's a number on there just sharing in case anyone saw anything....

Saffron I thought the same .

A few months ago it took an hour and a half for an ambulance to arrive when my 94 year old mother broke her femur very badly .Not the same I know .

The poor ambulance staff said that every visit they did the first thing they had to do was aplogise for the delay .There seemed to be some change of protocol re hand over at the hospital which was causing great delays .

It's horrifying but unfortunately not as as rare an event as we all hope it should be...

In the early 2000s a study found the leading cause of death amongst pregnant women was murder (20% of all deaths for pregnant women in the US). It IS really appalling what pregnancy brings out in some people.

Some Evil people in this world. So sad for the poor girl this has happened to. I really hope those nasty's that did this scum attack are caught and suffer locked up for it. This country needs to toughen up dealing with these crimes.

I felt physically ill when I read about this yesterday. Never ceases to shock, how some people are capable of such disgusting behaviour.

Quite possible that it was treated as a low priority because the caller didn't convey the full details. Wouldn't be so quick to jump to conclusions regarging the ambulance service.

Mmm - the FIRST phone call was assessed as low priority .

Which is what happened with my mother ( not the same I know ,tho she did die within 24 hours of the fall ) .

Repeated calls , original ambulance diverted to a " more urgent " call .

And wasn't there a case earlier this year of an accident in Camberwell New Rd where the police ended up taking an injured person to hospital themselves because of the delay ?

I should say that I have the greatest respect and appreciation of the Ambulance Service ,I'm not trying to criticise them .

London Mix - don't even get me started, been working with Refuge for the past 2 years, two thirds of all domestic violence starts in pregnancy.

Glad to hear someone has been charged, hopefully she makes a full recovery.

Jeremy.. We had an emergency at Curry Club when one person was suddenly taken very ill..

On calling the Emergency Services the caller was asked what seemed like an list of

pre-prepared questions and would not listen to any details the caller was trying to convey

saying. "I did not ask you about that. Just answer the questions"

I can only assume the answers to the questions merit points and that the number of points

determines the urgency of the situation.

Not the best system IMHO.

There aren't enough ambulances and paramedics are under ridiculous pressure. I know a couple and they are struggling.

I thought the police ended up taking this poor woman to hospital having waited an hour for the ambulance. Which to me begs the question why didn't the police just take her sooner?

Ideally there'd be some degree of communication between the police force and the ambulance service, so they'd know approximately how long the ambulance would be (and elevate priority if necessary). But I guess this isn't the case... hard to make a call when you're in the dark.

The police have already indicated that it was not a random attack. The emotion involved in wanting to kill an unborn child requires a strong connection so its likely to be the father or someone who felt threatened by the pregnancy based on their relationship with the father or the mother.

Ex-boyfriend and father of the baby, according to the Beeb. I suspect he'll be watching his back constantly when they throw him in Wormwood Scrubs. Someone will sort him out.

I only hope they have enough evidence, seeing as there was two of them and they were wearing motorbike helmets. So if anyone did see anything, phone it in to the police. You may make a big difference.

    • What was he doing on the stage at Glastonbury? Or on the stage at the other concert in Finsbury Park? Grinning like a Cheshire cat whilst pissed and stoned 20 somethings on the promise of free internet sung-- Oh Jeremy Corbyn---  What were his policies for Northern mining towns with no jobs or infrastructure? Free Internet and university places for youngsters. What were his other manifesto pledges? Why all the ambiguity over Brexit?  I didn't like Thatcher, Blair or May or Tony but I respected them as politicians because they stood by what they believed in. I respect all politicians across the board that stick to their principles. Corbyn didn't and its why he got  annihilated at the polls. A socialist, anti imperialist and anti capitalist that said he voted for an imperialist and pro capitalist cabal. He refused to say how he'd vote over and over again until the last knockings. He did so to appease the Islington elite and middle class students he was courting. The same people that were screaming that Brexit was racist. At the same time the EU were holding black and Asian immigrants in refugee camps overseas but not a word on that! Corbyn created and courted a student union protest movement that screamed at and shouted down anyone not on the left . They claimed Starmer and the centre right of labour were tories. He didn't get elected  because he, his movement and policies were unelectable, twice. He turned out not to have the convictions of his politics and died on his own sword.    Reform won't win an election. All the idiots that voted for them to keep out Labour actually enabled Labour. They'll be back voting tory next time.    Farage wouldn't be able to make his millions if he was in power. He's a very devious shyster but I very much doubt he'd actually want the responsibility that governance requires.
    • The purge of hard left members that were part of Corbyn's, Mcdonnel's and Lansmans momentum that purged the party of right wing and centrist members. That's politics. It's what Blair did to win, its what Starmer had to do to win. This country doesn't vote in extreme left or right governments. That's partly why Corbyn lost  We're pretty much a centrist bunch.  It doesn't make it false either. It's an opinion based on the voting patterns, demography and statistics. Can you explain then why former mining constituencies that despise the tories voted for them or abstained rather than vote for Corbyns Labour?  What is the truth then? But he never got elected!!! Why? He should have been binned off there and then. Why he was allowed to hang about is an outrage. I hold him party responsible for the shit show that we've had to endure since.
    • Depends on what the Barista says doesnt it? There was no physical confrontation with the driver, OP thinks she is being targetted when she isnt. These guys work min wage under strict schedules so give them a break unless they damage your stuff
