Render removal

Recommended Posts

HI,

We're thinking of removing our cracked (and damp-causing) concrete render, hoping to keep the just the brick underneath, and are looking for contractor recommendations. We've already approached Mahon, so looking for some alternatives to provide a quote.

We would be interested to hear from people who have had this work done recently, and whether you'd recommend the contractors you used...

Many thanks

Kate

Hi, Not sure if you're still looking but we just had the front of our house cleaned (pebbledash and tyrolean removal on victorian house) and it was done by Joe at LondonKent Brick Removal. I can't recommend him highly enough, the job itself was completed to a very high standard, results look fantasic and he was a real pleasure to have around for the 5weeks it took to undertake. Certainly wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

Thanks for the recommendation Londontraveller - I think we maybe had a look at your house after we also booked Joe for the work.

We would also highly recommend Joe from LondonKent Brickwork - Tel: 07808537289 email: [email protected]

We had very thick concrete render removed front and back, bricks repaired and replaced, original headers repaired, very smart pointing, and a few areas of re-render (eg around bay, and front door). Joe and Brad were great to work with, and very considerate of family life and our neighbours too. Joe talked through all elements of the job, and kept us well informed of any price implications / changes.

We are delighted with the results and he's already started work on another house 3 doors down the road.

    • I pay £4,500.00 service charge for my one bedroom property on Sydenham Hill in the area of Bromley court and attleborough court. What are the Southwark council doing with our money. The grass needs cutting and the weeds need clearing from paths, walkways and walls. It use to look well manicured,  now it’s a wreck. I should have a reduction in my service charge as I’m paying towards something that is not being done .
    • Following up on my post of May 12, Leon of Electrical Initative arrived yesterday and fitted my new consumer unit. He did an extremely thorough job, not rushing anything, which I find very reassuring. So often I get a repair job where the impatient workers seem to be in a tearing hurry to finish up, move their parked van so they won't get a ticket, get to the next job, and collect their money. Not Leon. After about two hours of careful work and tests, made all the more challenging by his having to work in a cramped space under the stairs, I now have an up-to-date consumer unit installed, one that's up to code with the latest regulations. He also found an extra 20 mins to fit a new bathroom light for me, and adjusted the settings for me too. Two jobs on a single call, as he'd promised he would - what more could you want? I whole-heartedly recommend this honest and trustworthy trader to anyone who needs electrical work done in SE London.
    • Not looking quite how it did before GALA turned up, I'll be very interested to know what they can do to "reinstate" it & how long it will take to recover. And how they're going to remove all the litter - there'll be plenty of fag butts, filter tips, cable ties, bottle tops, ring pulls and god knows what else firmly stuck in that mud...
    • I just had my trusty old push bike stolen. I am looking to replace it with another old bike, with no particular value but still in working order to get me from A to B. Please let me know if you are looking to give away or sell such an item.
