traveler2
James, I have contacted the council about the sign precariously secured over the sidewalk above the Indian restaurant near to William Rose Butcher. See photos attached. This is a hazard given the state of the crumbling concrete and way the sign is secured.Any suggestions on how this can be addressed?Trav Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/63187-dangerous-sign-above-indian-restaurant-on-lordship-lane/ Share on other sites

Cora
I was sitting across the road when this was being put up - looked incredibly dodgy....well done for acting...had completletly forgotten about it....the people putting it up didn't look very sure what they were doing and it stretches across a busy pathway...really needs inspection....I think it's for Swadesh...James who do you contact about this sort of thing? DulwichFox
These two pics. show the problem.. Pic 1 shows the sign is sloping and the cable taught. Pic 2 shows there are no bolts in the bottom bracket.. The sign is being held in place by the cable.. Andrew1011
Apparently botched installations like this need to be taken seriously by business owners, installers and local authorities as they can lead to tragedy. That sign doesn't look as though it would take a very high gust of wind or much of a knock to bring it down, and it's only a couple of years since a betting shop sign fell and killed a young man on Camden Road, NW1. http://www.theguardian.com/uk/2013/jan/28/man-dies-hit-falling-sign Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/63187-dangerous-sign-above-indian-restaurant-on-lordship-lane/#findComment-862873 Share on other sites
