I have to be at the V&A for 9.45 tomorrow morning.

Since I retired that's like the crack of dawn to me!

Is it best to get train to Victoria from Denmark Hill then district line and if so what time should I get train?

Going to Alexander McQueen exhibition hooray! :)

ETA: wondering if I should allow extra time for rush hour etc??

That's probably quickest route, but if it were me - and this is just because I hate rush hour trains and tubes - I'd allow a bit longer and take 345 bus from Cambeerwell to South Ken.

Why? Get a seat and no changing.

But. It does take at least an hour so I'd check TFL journey planner for how long it's currently taking at that time of day.

Supposed to be an amazing show, I was due to yo as part of a corporate party thing hut it was night that Michelle Obama decided to go so we all had to wait outside and then I ran out of time. Boo.

Please God DO NOT go the bus route unless the trains are completely screwed up. Speaking from experience its very hit and miss (I do Denmark Hill or Peckham Rye to South Ken for work).

Your hour could be an hour and a half and its not exactly a direct route! Train quick and only two stops on the tube from Victoria so a sweaty 5 mins only to put up with....

Yeh thanks hpsaucey, I just looked up the bus timetable and had reluctantly decided it had to be the trains .......

    • Every year council workers come round and remove "weeds" from pavements. These "weeds" are wild flowers which as well as brightening up the urban environment attract pollinating insects including bees. Can someone explain to me what is the purpose of this removal? The plants do not seem to be causing any kind of obstruction to pedestrians, and they make my walks around the area more pleasant. Or had done. It seems a bit odd that on the one hand the council are deliberately planting areas of wild flowers (eg on Goose Green, albeit not apparently maintaining them very well) and/or apparently letting previously cultivated areas go wild (eg on Goose Green roundabout) but on the other hand they are paying employees to come round and remove wild flowers. Why? Am I missing something here? I came out the other day to find a small pile of flowering  Toadflax and Alkanet outside my house. I was totally bemused until a neighbour told me the reason.
