what do people do with rubbly soil dug from garden ?

To save me phoning does anyone know if I can get rid of some very stony soil at the Old Kent Rd dump ?

It's broken up bits of brick ,small stones ,sort of large gravel that I'm digging out of my garden .Probably the base for a hardstanding . But there's a fair bit of soil mixed in with it .

I think that's fine as long as it's bagged up, you should be able to empty the bags into the hardcore skip. Take ID though because they've a new system in place where you have to provide proof of address.

However usually people laying hardcore don't use soil.

So if the skip is for material to be later used as hardcore, the soil won't be any use. Having said that the soil will just filter down to the bottom of the skip and possibly never be used.

I wonder what people do with such stuff ? Sure I'm not the only one to have a garden consisting of a thin layer of soil over old greenhouse bases ( + smashed glass ) and strange black stuff which I presume is some form of old degraded tarmac .
