Anyone have any words of advice or wisdom on rotary washing lines.

Want one that can be taken down/removed easily, but from past experience the ones that you just spike in the grass, don't seem to stay upright for long.

Can anyone recommend a particular rotary which might fit the bill, perhaps that one that includes something to secure it at the base with.

We have had a brabantia one for years, it's been taken down and put up again many times and does the job perfectly. Though in Scotland we call them whirligigs :)

You do have to really hammer the holder/housing into the ground though. But when the drier isn't in use you don't know the holder is there, there's a little cap for it and you can't see it in the grass.

I'm a bit sad and for some reason drying clothes in the open air makes me really happy!

I've got one of the Brabantia Wallfix lines which are a great option if you've got a suitable wall to attach it to as they just fold away against the wall. They don't spin round in the wind but otherwise are the same as the rotary ones. As Belle said, if you're going for one in the lawn they work best if you get one of the metal holders you fix into the grass that you can then just slot the drier into.

    • While enjoying the nostalgia and memories, finding the implication that no such thing exists now a bit odd - we get ours through Milk and More (is part of big co, so there is that against it) - returnable glass bottles of milk, orange juice, yoghurt, and much more besides (as per the name). And yes it comes in the middle of the night in an electric vehicle.
    • This sounds like what goes on at Tessa Jowell GP surgery as well as others.   If you can flag yourself up as a ‘vulnerable’ patient or one that can’t use Apps for whatever reason etc then you can usually make appts by phone. They would have to make allowances. Quote the Equality Act 2010,  reasonable adjustments section.
    • Its part of a change all Doctor surgery's are undergoing.  The goverment want to stop the 8am scramble for an appointment, and its not just restricted to the Gardens. Sadly, it does impact some who are not digitally savy.
    • There was quite an old clip on BBC4 recently where they were introducing yoghurt to the British public. They called it a 'Balkan Dairy Preparation', which sounded to me more like something you'd ask to speak to the male member of staff about in the chemist in those days.
