DulwichFox
So.. new knife law comes into force today.. which means if you are caught twice in possession of a blade / knife you will face a prison sentence of a Min. of 6 months.. What constitutes a blade / knife ? Inches ? In reality, how likely is any sentence likely to be passed down. There will always be those that will come to the defence of anyone breaking this law. I was always under the impression that such a law was already in place. ? Blah Blah
I think there is a minimum inch length to define what carrying a knife is. Basically anything longer than the smallest penknife I think.I too am a bit confused Fox. I thought the law was toughened up on knives years ago. Might have a little google :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/66862-knife-crime-2-strikes-and-youre-out/#findComment-875375 Share on other sites
Blah Blah
https://www.gov.uk/buying-carrying-knivesSo up to three inches is legal it seems and up to 4 years in prison and ?5000 fine. That clearly isn't working if they now feel the need to bring in a mandatory 6 month sentence for a second offence. Wonder as well how this would apply to minors? ratty
Facetious. I work with the Trilogy plus team over there and sometimes it seems the entire borough is stabbing each other. That wasn't meant to rhyme.
