lost small on both guineas - did not see either race.

Currently have some good football bets on:

?140 on Fulham to win Europa at 3.8 (hedging the 50 I had on hamburg)

Inter to win CL

Chelsea to win Premeirship from before the old trafford game (having seen arsenal slip away I seemed to have picked the right team, assuming wigan do not cock things up)

I had ?2 on Rory to win the Open at Carnoustie in 2007. He was 17 years old and 2000/1 and when he had the joint lead after the first round - I was getting excited....

32s for the US open is prob ok - but its a very difficult competition to predict the winner - comes up with some odd champions due to the very tight courses the us opens are played on.

A small bet though, seems worth it I can't see the price going out?

On another note. Interestingly Labour are 42s for an overall majority

Ok pretty unlikely but

- possible tactical voting

- quite a lot undecided

- I think that (similarly to '92 and the Tories) quite a lot of people are not admitting that they're going to vote Labour

I think that it's worth a small punt. If you're not a fan of Labour or Gordon (and I'm not of Gordon) it'll at least give you some compensation if the unlikely happens!

I've had a ?5

    • A new roadmap (surely railmap?!) for rail accessibility has been published: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/accessible-railways-roadmap It says "approximately 56% of stations and around 66% of the 1.3 billion journeys that take place on the network have step-free access to platforms...  "£373 million has been committed over the next 5 years to deliver Access for All projects, providing step-free access from station entrances to and between platforms, alongside other essential accessibility upgrades. These works, together, will increase the number of step-free stations across Great Britain from 56% to 58%. "This improvement will make travel easier with step-free access available at stations covering an increased share of total rail journeys – from 66% up to 71%" Don't know what that means for us here: upgrading Peckham Rye would cover a lot of rail journeys but the cost has no doubt increased from the £40m figure previously quoted. So that would eat into a lot of the funding.
