Narnia
Mick, can you do each way on Betfair for the Open? Can't seem to see it anywhere. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6740-betting-matters/page/36/#findComment-342472 Share on other sites
????
Declan, you can bet Top 5 finish, which is essentially the same thing (although some bookies offer top 7) or you can even get top 10 but the odds smaller obviously. Mick Mac
sorry declan was busy today but only downside of top 5 bet is there is no bonus for winning, you get the same wherever your man finishes. Who did you go for? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6740-betting-matters/page/36/#findComment-342695 Share on other sites

(Ignore him Declan he's in the red at the mo - you can bet championship winner + Top 5 and that's an EW bet, whatever he Says) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6740-betting-matters/page/36/#findComment-342734 Share on other sites
Mick Mac
it is the same as the place in each way but its called each way because each way is a win bet and a place bet combined declan. You need to do a win bet alongside your place bet if you want to replicale a conventional each way bet. Mick Mac
I have Darren Clarke at -4 (110/1) and Lowry at -3 (150/1) ... thats about it from my opening bets. Feel dreadful about Rory - could have cried for him as he left the 18th green tonight. Would be v pleased for him to be under par tomorrow. Where is citizened with his latest predictions? Going for a winner AND a top 5 place is not quite the same thing is it? The potential winnings are fixed when you place the bet. Mick Mac
Declan - each way is a win bet and a place bet. So it is the same thing as doing the a win bet and a place bet seperatley. The only difference is that the separate bets may not have exactly matching odds - that might be the point you are making. But its not right to say that the higher the place the bigger the win, as its only if the player wins that you get the win bet money, other placings 2nd / 4th pay out the same money on the place bet element. Narnia
That's my misunderstanding then Mick. So really going for a winner and a top 5 is the same as an each way bet. ????
I got Oosthozen for 4.6 on Saturday morning as I thought he was looking very good so made a small profit....now if only I'd traded Tiger after day one and Watney after day two when they'd both shortened Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6740-betting-matters/page/36/#findComment-343448 Share on other sites
Mick Mac
US PGAHave the customary majors bet on Rory (just about remembered to do it) at 19/1. Have added Zach Johnson tonight as he is going well. York Ebor meeting Am off to York races Tuesday with some work friends, which was a day picked at random and guess what I'm will see Rip van Winkle in the Juddmonte (Harbinger was to be fav but retired) so I will see my man in the flesh. Has not won this season but maybe Tuesday is his day - trouble is he is always v short odds. ????
What's everyone done on the football? Narnia
I blew all my WC winnings on the Open golf. I'm never betting on golf again. As for Tevez, I was reading yesterday that he'd fallen out of love with the game after the WC and really is only playing for the money so he can go back home in 2/3 years. That doesn't sound hungry enough to me! Besides he's playing in a side that may not even gel for some time. ????
I've actually had a very good year this year but i think it's a bit less is more. Golf's a bit of a lottery Declan, I just like doing a few medium odds hopefuls and hoping one comes in enough to trade. Won a bit on the Open and gonna win the PGA...more if Watney wins. Mick Mac
Watney looks very cool but to be honest there are lots on 7/8/9 under who could still win. I'm hoping for some good viewing tomorrow night and not a runaway winner (unless its rory). Mick Mac
Watney feels the heat on the 1st with double bogey and his lead has gone. Rory also looks nervy. Should be an interesting evenings viewing. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6740-betting-matters/page/36/#findComment-352054 Share on other sites
