Er....isn't that the same as the 'place' part of an EW bet Mick?

(Ignore him Declan he's in the red at the mo - you can bet championship winner + Top 5 and that's an EW bet, whatever he Says)

I have Darren Clarke at -4 (110/1) and Lowry at -3 (150/1) ... thats about it from my opening bets.

Feel dreadful about Rory - could have cried for him as he left the 18th green tonight. Would be v pleased for him to be under par tomorrow.

Where is citizened with his latest predictions?

Surely with e/w what you win is determined by the final placing i.e the higher the place the bigger the win. Going for a winner AND a top 5 place is not quite the same thing is it? The potential winnings are fixed when you place the bet.

Declan - each way is a win bet and a place bet. So it is the same thing as doing the a win bet and a place bet seperatley. The only difference is that the separate bets may not have exactly matching odds - that might be the point you are making.

But its not right to say that the higher the place the bigger the win, as its only if the player wins that you get the win bet money, other placings 2nd / 4th pay out the same money on the place bet element.

Have the customary majors bet on Rory (just about remembered to do it) at 19/1. Have added Zach Johnson tonight as he is going well.

York Ebor meeting

Am off to York races Tuesday with some work friends, which was a day picked at random and guess what I'm will see Rip van Winkle in the Juddmonte (Harbinger was to be fav but retired) so I will see my man in the flesh. Has not won this season but maybe Tuesday is his day - trouble is he is always v short odds.

I blew all my WC winnings on the Open golf. I'm never betting on golf again. As for Tevez, I was reading yesterday that he'd fallen out of love with the game after the WC and really is only playing for the money so he can go back home in 2/3 years. That doesn't sound hungry enough to me! Besides he's playing in a side that may not even gel for some time.

    • I think, with schools, you really have to find the one that suits your child, rather than moving to a school catchment and then hoping it works. Mine both went to a high ranking and covetable school and had very different experiences - one loved it and the other was bullied and traumatised, and hated it. WE actually moved away because she couldn't walk around the area (yes - Dulwich area, so one of the local schools).
    • We live a little further down, on Pymers Mead. Traffic is terrible (always has been, but worse since the introduction of the Southwark LTNs). It's mainly the school drop -- traffic is noticeably lighter once the private schools break up  Have a few friends who live on that side of CR backing on to the train line. None has had any major complaints and the gardens on that stretch are fairly long, so you're not right on the line. Some have kids who go to Charter North -- its catchment defintely extends to Croxted Road. Other state secondaries nearby are Elmgreen and, of course, Kingsdale, although that doesn't have a catchment -- pure lottery
    • Hi. Does anyone know of a silver making jewellery workshop. I am trying to find something nice for my daughter’s 18th birthday.l for her and some friends but everything I find online is too pricey or can’t accommodate 10 girls. Thanks
    • Without doubt a busy road with constant traffic - but can always put in double glazing. If you have a car, don’t expect to park right outside - prob further away but with walking distance. Agree with PeckhamNicola re train times and freight but at least not wizzing by every few minutes! Sorry but little experience in state schools - obviously you have plenty of private - Jags Dulwich College, Alleyns. Judith Kerr on Half Moon Lane - good rep - no idea whether secondary or primary  - think primary. Also Charter School North - good reputation and Ark Evelyn - no idea! You might also look at West Dulwichand Crystal Palace Schools. Try Harris Academy as well. All the best.
