Right, sussed it, if Ururagay beat Holland we're neutral on the first time lay whatever happens.... with the Spain bet possibly alive. If spain beat Germany the bet's still on whatever happens. So if Holland beat Uruguay and Germany Spain, bet Holland almost certainly for a neutral outcome. Still a free bet on Spain ;-)

No problem Quids. Tip 1: Australia to finish 3rd in tri-nations.

Oh dear - I have put my Germany winnings (from Argie game) on them to win the tournament. Could Paul be wrong for once....

A bet on Holland this morning means I'm only up for a very small loss if they lose, even with my first time winner lay (Spain still a nice little winner). I also had a small bet for Webb as Final referee at the quarter finals (2.4).

Just my stoooopid and spontanous lump on on Paraguay to beat NZ has cost me a decent profit on the tournament - spontaneous bets....GRrrrrrrrrrr.

I reckon NZ to beat SA by less than 12.5 points @ 2.76 is good value. SA haven't won in Eden Park since 1937 though because of rebuilding for next years WC the capacity is only going to be 17,500.Historically they have played 78 times and the average points difference is in NZ's favour but by less than 3 points. I reckon it will be close tomorrow too.

Outsiders only so far - running low on funds.

Ross Fisher 55 ?10.00

Darren Clarke 110 ?5.00

Zach Johnson 150 ?2.00

Shane Lowry 130 ?2.00

At shorter odds have now gone for ?20 on Harrington at 25s - usually gives you a good run and should be ok in the bad weather. Think Tiger is not quite there yet, so bad weather may knock his swing out a fraction. Rory to win would be a dream result, no need to bet to get a kick out of that, but might just check his odds after round 1, he is certainly too short at current odds.

Have added ?2 on Chris Wood and Gareth Maybin. Chris Wood has a good Open record and yet is 100/1 Gareth Maybin is 810/1 so that must mean he is really good too.

Thats because noone knows who is going to win....especially with the weather - best tactics for golf are to bet after round 2. Anyone within 5 shots has a decent chance and you still get decent odds for the chasing pack. Nice to have some interest for the first two days though.

    • Another recommendation for Dulwich Test and Services Centre. Only been using them for a couple of years but wish I’d found them earlier
    • A new roadmap (surely railmap?!) for rail accessibility has been published: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/accessible-railways-roadmap It says "approximately 56% of stations and around 66% of the 1.3 billion journeys that take place on the network have step-free access to platforms...  "£373 million has been committed over the next 5 years to deliver Access for All projects, providing step-free access from station entrances to and between platforms, alongside other essential accessibility upgrades. These works, together, will increase the number of step-free stations across Great Britain from 56% to 58%. "This improvement will make travel easier with step-free access available at stations covering an increased share of total rail journeys – from 66% up to 71%" Don't know what that means for us here: upgrading Peckham Rye would cover a lot of rail journeys but the cost has no doubt increased from the £40m figure previously quoted. So that would eat into a lot of the funding.
