We've got building work starting at end of Aug & are looking for a short term/6m let

to enable our builders to crack on & (hopefully) enable us to keep a bit of sanity/some degree of a

normal life!

Have posted in the residential section, but not any luck yet & wondered if I'd catch a different crowd here. Looking for 2 bedrooms, furnished/semi furnished ideally & our max budget is around ?1450 a month.

Any advice on where to look welcome from those who've done this before - beginning to feel a bit stressed that we won't find anything 😣

Hello

I've just posted an ad about a short term let of a 2 bed garden flat in Streatham. Available for August and September only though and unfurnished apart from sofa bed. ?1,250 pcm. Let me know if you are interested although it sounds like timing might be out for you.

Just thought I'd mention it as it sounds like you are starting to get a bit desperate!

Bit of a sweeping statement no? Plenty of ads on here for short term lets and that's before you even look at Gumtree or AirBnB. To say "you will have to" may have been true in your experience but there are other routes.

Will look at Pretty's window, and so far Montassa it seems we are viewing stuff that LL's/agents are ok to offer 6m contracts on but dependent on what other offers they get.

KathrynA - thanks for heads up but dates & location wrong (got childcare/sch in Nunhead so want to stay bit nearer x)

    • A big thanks to Julian for coming out to see to a gutter issue the next morning after a period of incredibly heavy rain. The gutter pipe in question is shared between four houses and the cause of the leak wasn't immediately obvious. Julian made two visits to make sure the issue was fully resolved and was highly efficient in his work and very personable too.
    • Who does it bother? The bikes take up more pavement space and are far more untidy.
    • Eliot built sitting room alcove shelving and cupboards for me earlier this year and did a great job. I highly recommend him. The joinery is completed to a really high standard; Eliot was super communicative throughout and took care to check details with me. The work was done on time and the guys took care to clean up afterwards (not always the case!). I’m extremely pleased with the results and wouldn’t hesitate to use him again.
