I need a very short (hopefully) course to help me mend/rebuild raised beds on my allotment.

Does anybody know of anything suitable locally?

I'm totally cack-handed, but I did make some wooden windowboxes circa 1991 ( :)) ) of which I was quite proud at the time, however I think the raised beds will need reinforcing at the corners.

My other half bought me one of these courses (DIY in a day) for Crimbo, and it covered a few very useful things at a basic level, the lady that ran it was great.

As far as raised garden beds, the kits you can buy are usually very straighforward with pre-drilled holes and such.

Thanks, that sounds useful.

I will investigate kits, but I have a whole allotment presently entirely given over to raised beds (many many of them!) and I don't think it would be feasible to replace them all by using kits.

Ah, fair enough. We did two from kits + two tomato planters from old shelving. I reckon getting gravel board or similar cut to size + using pegs/posts for support is probably not too much more effort. I'm sure there are a few dab hands on this forum who'll shortly be along with some good advice.
