Weeeeeeeh.

The undersigned do respectfully request the proprieters of The Castle to install some pole dancers.

A couple of three or so a night would be alright we reckon, perhaps Thursday to Saturday.

During the day just stick the telly on. Racing preferably.

Anyway no point poncing about, is it a yes or a no?

Respectfully yours

I drove past on friday night on my scooter - and was greeted by a charming little scallywag dressed in a very shiny Chelsea kit going 'gimme some pizza maaaaate' onto to be told by his similarly charming father to 'shut it you little fuka'

I wonder if the landlord could refurbish the punters too?

That's a terrible thing to happen to

someone. I hope you've recovered from this dreadful ordeal.

Re: sprucing up the punters, perhaps we could petition the powers that be for a more middle class variety of drinker? The current bunch are not exactly in keeping with the utopian image of ED that I was promised. Not exactly organic, if you catch my drift (although the irony is that they are, for the most part, locally sourced).

Locally sourced builders etc are pretty much restricted to one pub in ED now - being the Castle. Will be interesting to see if they achieve a more balanced mix of ED residents with the new facelift, I'm sure all of ED types can mix together?

I don't think builders are not necessarily all bad - the ones we have used are all public school educated... which is a bit surreal (conversations about existentialism etc).

i do think 8 year old kids outside a pup with a pissed father at 10.30 on a friday night is a bit off though.

Went in on Sat night for a couple of drinks. It wasn't that busy really. On the whole it was OK and much, much cheaper than the pubs along Lordshop Lane.

Still smells of paint. It reminded me of a Wetherspoons pub probably because it had just been done out and still needs to be worn in a bit.

There was one child running around in the bar at about 10pmish. I don't mind that though as I don't have to look after kids that are not my own!

    • Hello, Does anyone know of any climbing, basketball or badminton clubs that are local to Peckham, East Dulwich? My son’s weekends are full of football and rugby training but I’m struggling to keep him busy (off a screen!) on week evenings. I’ve looked into the London Community boxing but sessions sadly start at 4.30 and he’s not back from school until 5.  Any recommendations gratefully received!
    • Be careful out there  !   I got a ticket for 1 minute over  on Lordship Lane   ---- with a blue badge , on a single yellow ...    I returned at 4.03pm to find the ticket -- he waited till 4.01pm with ticket and then scarpered  Naturally i appealed it and this was the response   We refer to the informal challenge you have made against the issue of the Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) JK17113680 You were parked on a single yellow line with one yellow kerb marking. There is a sign at the location advising that no loading is permitted Monday-Friday, 7 am to 10 am, and then 4 pm to 7 pm. Loading is permitted for a maximum of 40 minutes between 10 am and 4 pm, and then again after 7 pm. You were observed parked at 4:01 pm. and therefore issued a PCN for parking at a time when the rule applies. The purpose of this rule is to improve traffic flow and safety at all times. This contravention is immediately enforceable, and therefore, a PCN can be issued straight away as no observation period is needed. This rule applies to disabled badge holders, too; it is not a situation where you may use your disabled badge. Although your Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) was correctly given, we have cancelled it on this occasion, as a gesture of goodwill. Please note that this cancellation does not set a precedent for other PCNs issued in the future under similar circumstances, as each case is dealt with on its own merits. Yours sincerely Anita Hayler Southwark Parking
    • Closed this evening at 7pm (Tuesday). Perhaps worth ringing first to check if it’s open?
    • Thanks for the recommendation. So pleased I found Andy the plumber! After being let down by others, he assessed remotely, ordered part and got everything sorted in no time. Really grateful — thank you! Highly recommend
