On behalf of the Copleston Centre I wanted to let you all know that we shall be doing a bucket collection charity fundraiser at the Dog Kennel Hill Sainsbury's today and tomorrow. If you don't see us outside, there should be collecting jars on the tills. We call ourselves`; 'Your space in the heart of the community', and we aim to serve the local community by providing much needed services such as our Creative Therapy Project to promote mental wellness,

youth clubs, and projects to beat isolation (street parties and Christmas dinners).

Please come along to Sainsbury's this weekend to find out more about our charity, and if possible, donate to our cause!

Thank you for taking the time to read this, we really appreciate it!

    • The frequency of fireworks seems to be increasing. If revellers selected the low noise variety that would help, but the trend seems to be the louder the better. I do not think sensitivity to stimuli is the same as timidity. Unexpected, extremely loud bangs and unusual noises will startle most of us. Humans, unlike other animals, have the luxury of knowing what fireworks are and what the noise represents. Some animals do learn to cope but many do not. It could be their hearing is not as sensitive. We should not forget that many animals, including cats and dogs have hearing that is much more developed than ours.

    • I still have a landline and the set of Panasonic cordless phones I have are on their last legs.  One display screen is broken. If you have a used set available, let me know.   John Lewis used to sell them but no longer.
