Hello everyone

My name is Gaby, I've been lurking on this site since I moved to ED a year and a half ago but never dared contribute. Now here I am!

I thought it would be worth me sending out feelers on here since I often hear musicians practising in their homes when I'm walking around (I live next to Barry road). Would any of you be tempted to play some music in the view of hopefully performing in some of our local caf?s? I might be completely deluded but as we say in France "Qui ne tente rien n'a rien!"

I guess I'm looking for jazzy pop/poppy jazz but frankly there's not many genres I don't like so do please get in touch if you'd be interested. (I hope I posted in the right section.)

Bye for now

Gaby

    • So what is the issue? You want compensation for the loss of value, or you want to expedite the matter?
    • No. What happened? I actually thought, considering it was what we used to call Guy Fawkes Day last night, the loud noises from  fireworks ended remarkably early. About 9pm? Maybe I just fell asleep and didn't hear any later ones. Do people actually burn Guys any more? Apart from at places like Lewes, where I believe they still have Bonfire Societies and burn effigies of various political figures etc.
    • The accompaniment to our "Christmas Pudding" aka Nothing-Whatever-Like-A- Christmas-Pudding last year  at The Cherry Tree was "brandy butter ice-cream." If it had ever been near any brandy, the brandy must have been waved in its direction from a very great distance. Same with butter. The ice cream tasted like bog standard "vanilla" from a catering tub. At least it did bear some resemblance to ice cream. Whereas the "Christmas Pudding" bore no resemblance whatever to any Christmas Pudding I have ever seen or tasted in my many  decades of seeing and tasting Christmas Puddings. Oh, and Cinzano Bianco. Bleurgh. My sister used to drink that. 🤢
