Wallpaper Question

Hello I am painting a wall that has previously been wallpapered. I am finding that the the wall has bubbled in section from the layer of wallpaper under the paint. Is it possible to smooth the surface out without stripping the wall or re plastering?

Has the paint bubbled or the wallpaper? If the latter, the bubble usually disappears when the paint dries out...

Try pricking it with a fine needle.

I agree with PGC, I've had to do the same thing before. I had to "moisten" the area to get it to stay flat.

I'm just astonished that all you people see fit to ruin a perfectly good bit of wallpaper by sloshing emulsion all over it.
