Dear all,

We are looking for someone good and honest, with a great work ethic, a high standard and reasonable price to come and totally renovate and refit two bathrooms including alternating some plumbing, and revamp our kitchen (new worktops, sink, taps, tiles and extractor fan.)

Obviously we're looking for the right man/woman to the right price and would like to get started asap.

We are a full time working family with a young child so honesty, professionalism and reliability is really key. I am however around for the next few weeks to arrange quotes and hold discussions to organise the job.

Any recommendations would be warmly welcomed!!

Thank you!

Hi EmmaJo,

It depends on whether or not you already have materials purchased and are doing it that way.

If you want the full package, we've just had our bathroom done by Bells, and we're incredibly happy with the results. Happy to message you photos if you like.

In-store, Tony was both patient and helpful, and was quick to respond / quote via email. When we made amends this was requoted for rapidly.

The actual work itself was done by two blokes ? Paul (plumber) and Dave (builder / tiler). Both great guys, and they went the extra mile to make sure that everything was spot-on. We know they could easily have cut corners but chose not to. They tick the boxes for your bathrooms ? honesty, professionalism and reliability.

Bells also do kitchens, but we haven't had ours done yet.

Hope that helps!

All the best

Sean Mulins

Hello Good morning

I noticed that Sean Mullins put a message up for your request and I can highly recommend his workmanship. He is a reliable, friendly and honest guy who works to a very high standard. Between myself and my sister( and a some other people I have referred him to)he has done 4 complete bathroom and kitchen refurbishments including tiling, painting, plumbing etc. He has also done a lot of painting and decorating for us as well. All have said the same about him. He has a good eye for detail and is so helpful and patient. He is honest and will say whats needed and whats not.We had ordered our stuff online from Victoria Plumb that kept sending wrong items and he went out and got from local suppliers and saved us over ?300!! He took us to choose tiles and got us discount too. I would always use and recommend him.

Good luck with your refurbs x

    • Did you have the same covid jab as you have had over the years?
    • Good morning, neighbours! We have around 1,000+ glasses like these from a café that just closed down. Not sure if anyone would like to keep some before we send them to charity. Please feel free to come and pick them up at 22 Upland Road, SE22 9EF anytime before 31st Oct😉
    • What "stricter" consequences could there be for shoplifting (or any other crime) than being put into jail, do you think? Though our prisons are of course full enough already, without more people being shoehorned  into them.
    • Returning to the original question, I had my jabs at Tessa Jowell yesterday. I was early and I was  seen on time, and it was a lovely pharmacist who did them, but the admin beforehand (not by her) was a bit iffy. I was given forms to fill in but not told what to do with them afterwards, so I  presumed I had to take them into the consulting room, as the rest was supposed to be filled in by a clinician, but no! After some time had elapsed and I had found a seat (there was no information on where to sit either, so people were sitting in two separate areas, neither of which had many seats) my name was called and  the forms were taken behind the counter. Be aware if you don't have an appointment - even in the relatively short time I was there, three people turned up without appointments having been sent there by a GP (I presume) or having  previously been  asked by the pharmacy to come  back at a different time, and they were all sent away again because the pharmacy didn't have enough flu vaccine until the following day. I have no idea if this was due to a misunderstanding on the people's side, their GP's or the pharmacy's, but none of them were very happy, and one lady said she "couldn't keep coming back" 😭  At least one of them didn't seem to understand what he was being told, possibly due to a language issue. I felt quite sorry for the pharmacist, who was giving jabs all day on top of her usual workload but still managing to stay cheerful! Though she wasn't the one dealing with the unhappy people! I have a sore arm from the Covid jab (I chose to have the jabs in different arms), but no other ill effects so far, touch wood.
