Threads that you never quite had the bottle to start..

Recommended Posts

Possibly a combination of all three, or maybe it's just the bragging about said food that grates the most? I always remember someone on here boasting about have a posh omelette for tea (fratata I think it's called). Why not just say, I had a nice omelette for dinner? OR just not say anything at all.

Yes but the difference is rd I don't specify which wine I'm drinking with the intention of making people jealous. Sometimes it's lambrini, some blue nun, it might even be a sainsburys basic Pinot Grigio. It's not like I'm coming on here giving a specific year, grape variety etc on average I pay less than a fiver for most wine I drink. I take your point though. Wouldn't you agree though, there's something really annoying about people talking about fratata's? It's almost on a par with pizza for me.

How do you propose we research this?

And by "orgasm free", are we including solo efforts or sticking to bunk ups with partners?

I don't actually believe for a second that you have ever lacked the bottle to start anything!

We had this thread back in the "Tony london suburbs" days. I was stupid enough to actually take part in that painful conversation.

Fratata sounds like a Welsh/Irish/Scottish colloquialism for Fried Potato.

Exactly *Bob*. I don't mind the natives referring to their grub in the native tongue, but when poncy Brits start talking about 'ya I came home and it was too late for waitrose ya so I knocked up a fratata in the kitchen snort snort'. Makes me feel nauseous.

I agree there can be a lot of unnecessary 'oneupmanship' in some threads, can't remember the fratata thread, but one that springs to mind was someone asking for ideas for a honeymoon destination, wasn't long before we got something like white water rafting down the Amazon. Can't remember if I posted ''a wet weekend in Skeggy did it for me'' but I will next time...

This is a much higher standard than of late - KUTGW

That only proves that the bloke has "gotten there" once in 9 months. Says nothing about the women, other than perhaps they were hopeful 9 months ago...

Honestly Otta, I do struggle to appreciate the number of brats these people have. And it's always that whole ignorant "I let my child do what they want because telling them off is bad karma" or some bollocks like that. You're in a pub/cafe/shop with numerous screaming kids getting in the way of people, annoying them, and is there an apology? Is there bollocks! Control you bloody child you wanted to procreate learn how to teach them to be seen and not heard!

It's not all middle class women miga, but they are disproportionately represented in the category of annoying people. On the fratata topic, anyone be they male, female or yet to decide is also included.

    • I do not know how old you are, but if you are clearly an older person ( please forgive if not the case) I think what these kids did is even more despicable. It seems clear this is not just misguided hijinks.
    • Regarding the Ring doorbell have a look at the information on the Information Commissioner's website: https://ico.org.uk/for-the-public/home-cctv-systems/ There has also been at least one legal case regarding Ring doorbell and cctv cameras, Fairhurst v Woodard, link to a law firm article on the case: https://www.nelsonslaw.co.uk/ring-data-protection/ Regarding noise and shed issues, can you speak to someone in the Southwark Leaseholders' Team?
    • In answer to your question Pugwash, the variety of foods that they offer both in canned goods and fresh. i personally no longer am a Sainsbury customer after years - feel that the quality of both their fruit, veg and fresh products ie meat, chicken, fish is not of a quality that they use to be. Agree with Sue that Co- Op does not make for a pleasant shopping experience.  On the subject of Waitrose not coming to ED - one can only assume that market research has been done by the company which makes it a non starter which, when you think about it is strange as all the big contenders are here.. Perhaps the powers to be have never heard of ED!! Maybe a Lidl or Aldi will rear their heads but somehow can’t see it as space is way to small. Really is strange that Waitrose is a non arrival - never ceases to amaze me how many eateries are in Lordship Lane alone and the majority all survive.
