There is a metal-scrapey noise coming from either Heber Rd, Crystal Palace Rd or nearby; I hear it all times of the day and it's pretty constant.

Because i don't get out much, i have tried to decipher the source and have it nailed down to three possibilities:

1) rusty child's swing, powered by manic child that never gets tired

2) a rusty gate that swings back and forth all day

3) a clothes mangle operated by manic old lady that never gets tired

if anyone knows where this noise is coming from i would be most delighted.

if no-one else can hear it then i'm checking myself into the priory for a rest.

If the bottle installations are causing the noise then have a word with the head, Mr Block, pretty sharpish- Heber breaks up for summer holidays tomorrow. It sounds like something the caretaker could easily sort out with a ladder and a few squirts of WD40.

    • Of course they do, watching cookery shows and buying cook books is a national pastime. However you raise a good point that some people claim they are time poor and end up eating out / takeaways as sometimes a quick macciedee is cheaper and easier than making a quick nutrious family meal.  However to put it in balance, not many people have the knowledge, confidence and time to cook Persian so good luck to team persepolis on this venture.
    • London doesn’t have a lot of Argentinian places specialising in empanadas, which suggests demand isn’t that great. There are many neighbourhoods with none at all or even nearby.  So for a mini-chain like Chango (several branches in SW London) to open here where there’s already a well established family run place doing the same feels a bit off.  I’ll be giving Chacarero my ongoing custom.
