Hi there

Just wondered who is still up for this? - from memory I think myself, sarah darcy, sawyerphin and NH mummy were - can you all confirm that you still are. Brum, I'm sorry I've kept changing dates - I think you could make the Sat but not Sun can you confirm? (next time we will get a date good for you too, really sorry) Others interested were: curlykaren, pepperkinski, alibo, fifib, dgastra and Maria Roberts. Let me know if you'd like to come along...I was going to suggest meeting at the cafe on Peckham Rye at 3ish if the weather is good but am open to other suggestions

Cheers

I'd like to come, have decided that its too dangerous to drive to wales after six months of no sleep. The thought of the car lulling bubs to sleep for five hours then arriving and him being full of beans after I've just done that drive fills me with dread....would love to be there, just can't stand the journey.

If the weather is rubbish will we just be meeting inside? Thanks for sorting it out emc x

PS: I'm the woman with curly hair (surprise) and eyes that look like they are bleeding from lack of sleep!

OK, last time will post about this til Sunday! Shall we meet outside the cafe on Peckham Rye (or inside if raining) at 3pm? Hope we can all spot each other - I'm about 5'7 blonde (God, sounding like I'm about to go on a blind date!), with a blonde 3 year old girl who will be running riot....see you all on Sunday - x
For some reason I wasn't getting the email alerts to tell me this topic was all still moving. yes, i will be there. See you at Peckham Rye 3pm, I can be spotted by my 2 little girls, the 4 year old has white blonde hair and the 2.4 year old has mad curly redish hair. They will probably be running mad having come straight from a birthday party. See you all there.

    • I may be a scrooge but to pay over £100 plus for a meal is a bit much. I understand that staff costs would be a high factor in this price and that being no transport on Christmas Day - pubs may have to pay car hire fees. The café in Christ Church will be doing a 3 course meal in the run up to Christmas for around £30 per head (Booking essential) so to charge an additional £60 plus seems somewhat unreasonable. The past few years, there have only been the 2 of us on Christmas Day, so we lash out and buy a lot of M & S food - ready prepared or with minimal cooking at a cost of between £30 and £40. We host the family Boxing Day onwards (8 - 10 people) spending around £60 on food and drink. Rather spend £100 for food etc over a couple of days rather than £200 for one meal. We are fortunate that we have the finances  to do this as many people are not able to do this. One family member with young children would find it hard to spend even £10 on a Christmas meal. Our kids come armed with plastic boxes to all family meals to take home any leftovers - so we are left with minimal waste- any veg and meat  get made into soup.
    • That would be Dulwich Wood ward wouldn’t it? One of the wards Southwark added Nov ‘23. Maybe the estate against didn’t get the memo. Oh man what a shit show.
