Conveyancing

Hello,

I would love a few recommendations on conveyancing solicitors. Also an idea of what price to expect for selling a 2 bed flat and buying a 3 bed home - if you have any recent experiences it would really help! I have never sold before in England (Scotland is easier!) so don't have much of a clue!

I have used Gaby Hardwicke in Eastbourne for three purchases (res. & BTL), particularly Amanda Loftus, after a colleague used them. They have always been great, prompt, cheap (about ?700 per purchase), responsive and you get the sense that they know what they're doing. My partner also used them for him purchase and was also impressed. Another friend currently in process with them.

I am a solicitor and went through a few less-than-good conveyancers before finding Amanda, would highly recommend.

I can recommend SAM Conveyancing - I used their services when I bought a shared ownership flat. Not only was the appointed conveyancer, Sally-Ann, very knowledgeable and proactive but their staff were excellent at chasing up the housing association I bought the flat from and which might well have dragged the process out otherwise. I can't recommend them enough.

Since then, they have been found guilty and fined for illegal street trading and collections in June in the City of London. https://news.cityoflondon.gov.uk/we-r-blighty-pleads-guilty-of-illegal-street-trading-and-collections-in-the-city/

Possibly unachievable due to various issues in the building industry but ambitious none the less.  What they seem to have failed to plan for, which was brought home by this year's drought, is adding more inferstructure including Reservoirs, power lines and sewerage treatment centres.  Ate they setting us up for more problems in the future?
    • If you know the layout of the Chequers estate, it is clearly unfeasible and logistically complex to project images onto the facade of the main building. Unless you are the military or something.
