We had an old codger round today. The one we had before we were once again rudely interrupted by some youth aiming to scale rockeries, plough up lawns etc.

In Spain, the banks always had their own door-to-door delivery folk in the major towns/cities, owing to crap public service post. It may be that here in the UK it'll be internet notification or nothing before long.

Indeed... of course several banks/insurance companies are starting to offer products which are "paper-free". Seems like the obvious thing to do, in terms of environmental impact, costs, and also convenience. Paper bills seem pretty pointless in most cases too.

Often paper bills or statements are needed for ID purposes, when opening a new bank account, applying for a mortgage or whatever. Fuck the postal strikers, I am sick of them!

    • That's a shame. I first saw his name on the sleeve notes to more contemporary stuff in the mid eighties like David Sylvian's first solo album and a couple of Talk Talk albums, then traced his work back to John Martyn and Nick Drake. I feel like I owe him a pint for that.

    • Our beloved cat Delia has been missing since last night, last seen in our garden (41a). She is a petite black fluffy cat with a long tail. She is microchipped, with an orange collar with a gold star tag.  She is deeply missed, and this is very unusual behaviour for her to not come home for so long.  Any information or if you live on Silvester Road or Pellatt Road where our garden backs onto each other, please reply to this thread or message me directly on 07933 624390.
    • My guess: The For Sale board has a much higher turnaround of items being sold. Items will usually be listed on page 1 for a day.  While on the Wanted board, it will take a week or longer for your post to appear off of page 1.
