Nooooooo - tell me it's not the green one with the pirate rigging up the side? That's my little one's fave piece of apparatus.

Maybe the council have taken it to be part of the new fencing?! Hope they replace it soon, as GGS is so well used and a vital local resource if you are 3.

Here's hoping it is found safe and well.

I am sad. So will be my lil' boy. That slide was the best one - he'd just mastered getting up that huge step up to the slide bit. I was looking forward to him mastering the rigging bit.

If these low-lifes have sawn it in half, is it in a dangerous state or have the council made it safe?

i will be phoning southwark shortly re the telly that has appeared outside my house (if i can call a number and get southwark to collect it, why could its owners not do the same rather than dump it outside my house?? but that is another matter) so will try to speak to parks department and report back.

Not much news, they've taken details of the slide and the grafitti, and will call back. Weiredly though GG is not listed on the list of parks or playgrounds on the Southwark website.

Maybe someone could mentiuon the slide to Richard Thomaas who seems to be Mr Fix-It at the moment.

It's not the slide on the (green) frame with the rigging that's gone, it's the main slide on the castle-style frame with the walkway in the middle of the playground. (Unless another one has been filched since I last visited a fortnight or so ago)

Incidentally, on the subject of Goose Green playground, is there any way of persuading the powers-that-be to replace the pelican and bull rockers, or at least loosen them up a bit somehow so that they actually rock. You need the strength/weight of a Liquorish bouncer to shift them at all and my kids get cruelly frustrated trying to budge them.

GG playground may not be listed because I am led to believe GG falls into 2/3 different areas including camberwell?!? which is partly why people at different sides of GG don't get consulted as the counils haven't as yet found a way of working together. This I think has been raised before by Bellenden Residents group within their newsletter, also why few people knew about the fence that seperates it.

    • I went last week and would recommend. I was very happy to see pricing based on hair length and especially a fringe trim price. I live nearby and don’t need it fully styled / blown out after a cut (curly so usually prefer to do it myself) so I like that it is variable pricing in that way.
    • Memes top of lordship haircut shampoo blow dry about £25  dulwich barbers hair cut about£22  jazzes haircut about £26
    • Re Day One, £52 for a short hair cut (cut & styling) and £72 for a long hair cut (cut & styling) which I believe is below the ears.  £38 for a blow dry which doesn’t appear to be included in the cut price as it’s not mentioned.  £15 for a fringe tidy.      I remember being startled to be charged separately for a blow dry by the salon that used to be in Melbourne Grove but is now closed down.  I was asked if I wanted a blow dry after the cut and highlights and said yes, but wasn’t told that I would be charged separately.  Only found out when I went to pay the bill.    Was offered a voucher on a further appointment.    De.Salon which used to be Cut-Throat in Peckham (Choumert Rd and Brixton) charge from £45 for a Short haircut that finishes by the ears.  They charge from £40 for any haircut that finishes below the jawline.  Their prices include a blow dry.  But if you have thick hair they charge an extra £15 for every additional 15 minutes for cutting.     I had my hair cut there before the name change.  I don’t understand the from part of the price. Had a look at the Blue Tit pricing which is very complicated. They charge depending on the stylist’s  experience.  Crab Salad in Peckham  -  short hair cut above the ear - from £69.    Long hair Cut below the ear from £80. Blow dry not mentioned as being included in the cut but is priced at £55 I noticed that Kuki charge different prices for men and women.  Doesn’t seem right if a woman has short hair and a man has long hair.   I used to go to a great salon in NW London  that charged the same price for men and women and stopped going when they upped their prices for women.
