This six-week course run by experienced yoga teacher Mark Westmoquette will introduce you to the basic principles of zen yoga practice and help you establish and develop this through simple practices you can do at home. There will be a particular emphasis on cultivating your "guts" (in Japanese hara, or belly), and you'll learn why it's important to centre your awareness in your hara and how that leads to a sense of grounding.

Starting Thursday 10th Sept 19:00-20:00, at the ZenYoga studio in Camberwell.

Places still available. Cost ?55.

For more info and to book visit [http://www.youruniverseyoga.co.uk/growing-your-roots-yoga-course.html]

Through the course you will develop your awareness, confidence, and precision in your movement, together with an embodied understanding of the principles and philosophies that underlie zen yoga. We will explore a variety of movement and posture work, including some of the more traditional yoga asanas (and some less traditional). We will also do plenty of partner work, breathing practices, and slowly introduce the practices of meditation and mindfulness.

It is both suitable for those completely new to yoga or those with more experience.
