Hi there ,wondering if anyone has had a garden office built , my girlfriend is working from home more and more and really needs a good garden office , we have looked at a few but there all look like large sheds , the main thing is to have it fully insulated and that it looks like and office with nice patio doors and a decent window for lots of daylight coming through , if anyone one can recommend any companies that fully supply and put up the office would really appreciate it

Regards

Dave

About seven or eight years ago i used http://www.northstreetsheds.co.uk/ i got a 20ft x 10 ft cabin/shed delivered and erected for approx ?1200 the shiplap exterior is really good quality 19mm thick fixed to 3" x 2" frame work inside. They built the shed to my design with a large opening for french doors and upvc windows which i sourced myself. the inside inc the floor i had insulated with kingspan and walls and ceilings were thermal boarded on top and plastered. Electrics and laminated flooring.i use a small oil filled electric radiator which heats it up in minutes. The shed looks like the day i got it well pleased. The total project from memory was about ?4500 and worth every penny the only thing i could knock was a poor quality roofing felt which i replaced.

Love these garden studios, jesska. Any hint on ballpark costs and what was included?

Hi again, the London Garden studios have a tab for prices and they vary according to size. But that basically included instal and all the interior kit/electrics/finishes. You can customise things with a roof light or extra windows. We had an extra bit put on (making ours an L shape) to house actual garden stuff. But they were really easy to work with and they have done a few in the area now.

    • So I've done a little more research into the current use of the word, I hadn't realised it had latterly been used to describe anti Muslim feelings. Still don't like the use of the word. These are horrible times and am fearful for the future.
    • Oh I didn't realised Starmer had used the word. I don't mean they are stirring up division between themselves (ie between Reform and Greens), I mean they are stoking division within communities, and stirring up racial prejudice and religious discrimination. That is sectarianism, in my view.
    • Just to repeat the news I was given – it's not being converted into a pub. As far as I know, there's no intention of dumbing down their restaurant offering.  Although as others have pointed out, Camberwell has two pubs – The Camberwell Arms and now the Michelin-starred Kerfield Arms – with excellent food. The Palmerston used to be the only pub in ED that was of such quality, but sadly no longer IMHO.
    • The country is in a real state.  What worries me about the Greens is encouraging migration and openly offering benefits to all with visas.  Where is the money for that coming from?  As if there is spare money, as if there is growth. Where I their holistic manifesto, ensuring funds are available and this is sustainable, and regulated? Incredibly dangerous and idealistic
