DM1
Hiya... I have my brother, nephews and niece (1 to 5yrs) coming to visit soon and wondered if anyone could suggest anywhere particularly kid friendly with good food to go for brunch? Have tried all obvious places before: Hormiman, Dulwich Park Cafe, Crystal Palace Park cafe etc etc. Just trying to think if there's any good new ones for kids?!Thanks very much for any suggestions! Sue
Don't go to Anderson's in Bellenden Road. They will expect you to know that the scrambled egg comes smothered in black pepper, and then accuse you of wasting food and wasting their time when your small children refuse to eat it. siousxiesue
It's Forest Hill, but Canvas and Cream are child friendly with a good menu Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/74890-good-brunch-places-for-visiting-kids/#findComment-901587 Share on other sites
oliviaandmilo
I've always loved and respected Fox on the Hill. This is on champion hill/ Denmark hill! They have kids menu, a large garden and inside family area, away from others who don't want to sit around children. Good prices. Over 20 years I have gone there. jimbo1964
What about a run around the Goose Green playground and a trip to The Gowlett for tasty pizza? simonethebeaver
Both Toast and Pedlar have been charming with our kids and happily provided modified versions of their menus for them. Toast has desks for kids to sit and colour at. And both have delicious food. Jeremy
Yes - Toasted is pretty kid friendly (in the daytime) and their breakfast/brunch is the best around. Very closely followed by Pedler. Although I would say that Pedler is a bit cramped and not really set up with pushchairs and stuff in mind.Trio on Bellenden Rd is specifically aimed at young kids and there's a play area with toys and books. Very spacious, loads of room for pushchairs. But the menu is quite limited - e.g. bacon sandwiches, pastries (albeit very good ones), egg & soldiers. Really good coffee and fresh juices. davidq100
The Duck Egg cafe on Northcross Road is also good bet... if you can get a table. Usually rammed on a Saturday. Mustard
Agree about Trio. That is a place for small people to play and run around.....
