I thought I was going to close right up by being closest to the winning margin for England - then discover one has to be within fifteen points to get the point! I don't think the most wildly optimistic England fan could have predicted yesterday's drubbing...

Quids' to lose, though the final round could be the hardest of all to predict - possible complacency from England, Ireland with a point to prove, Scotland lost a lot of men yesterday, Italy showed some flashes and a fair bit of spirit and Wales and France seem on about a par...could be interesting.

All to play for with the final fixtures tomorrow. Well for a few of you! I reckon a GSP will be hard earned and could prove decisive. The fixtures are:

Saturday

Scotland v Italy 12.30

France v Wales 14.45

Ireland v England 17.00

Good luck with those..........

Cripes - my dreams of creeping into the top two or at least ending up reassuringly average seem to have gone for a burton! Proud possessor of the wooden spoon...

Well done Quids and many thanks Alan M for organising, lent an extra interest to the competition, it's been fun. See you next year?

Quote of the day, Brian Moore in the fifteenth minute of overtime, "Well I suppose after all the peculiar things that have happened in the last year this is just another one of them..."

Don't know about a Lions competition RD, maybe nearer the time.

Wondering if any of you would be interested in playing Superbru's Master's competition. The golfers are divided into 4 groups and you pick one from each. You can repeat each day. Your score is determined by how they do. 3 under par = 3 points etc.

It wouldn't last very long but may be of interest. Given the time difference you would have plenty of time in the mornings to make/change your selections.

Anyone want to have a go at it? I don't want to start a thread at this point.

I've set up a pool for the Lions tour. The previous participants should receive an invite automatically. Haven't had a chance to read the rules. This is a link to the site for anyone wishing to join & play

Points scoring is like this:

Win Point = 1 point (though I think it may be 2 for the Tests)

Margin Point = 0.5 points for getting prediction within 5 points

Bonus Point = 1 point but will be shared for those getting prediction within 15 points.

No Grand Slam points in this game.

Five players so far. This I think is far more difficult than the 6 nations. Anything could happen........

Well that was bloody insipid. I know they're jetlagged, haven't had much prep etc but really, the cream of four nations should be able to put up a better performance against a pickup team from New Zealand's second tier. Anyone spot any positives today? The Blues will slaughter them Wednesday without a 200% improvement.
For a scratch team I thought the Barbarians played really well. It's difficult to judge the Lions performance for the reasons you mentioned but 3 weeks seems like a very short time before the 1st Test. At least the Blues are the lesser of the NZ Super teams this season but I'm not sure that's much consolation. Gatland has a very difficult task to blend a team to prepare for the Tests. They won't want to lose any game but it's the Test series that matters.

    • The solicitor is also the Executor. Big mistake, but my Aunt was very old, and this was the Covid years and shortly after so impossible to intervene and get a couple of close relatives to do this.  She had no children so this is the nephews and nieces. He is a single practitioner, and most at his age would have long since retired - there is a question over his competence Two letters have already gone essentially complaining - batted off and 'amusingly' one put the blame on us. There are five on our side, all speaking to each other, and ideally would work as a single point of contact.  But he has said that this is not allowed - we've all given approval to act on each others behalf. There are five on her late husband's side, who have not engaged with us despite the suggestion to work as a team, There is one other, who get's the lion's share, the typicical 'friend', but we are long since challenging the will. I would like to put another complaint together that he has not used modern collective communication (I expect that he is incapable) which had seriously delayed the execution of the will.   I know many in their 80s very adept with smart phones so that is not an ageist comment. The house has deteriorated very badly, with cold, damp and a serious leak.  PM me if you want to see the dreadful condition that it is now in. I would also question why if the five of us are happy to work together why all of us need to confirm in writing.
    • Isn’t a five yearly electricity safety certificate one of the things the landlord must give for a legal tenancy?
    • Very sorry to hear this, but surely the landlord is responsible for fixing the electrics?  Surely they must be insured for things like this? I hope you get it all sorted out quickly.

This not-for-profit, worker-run, wheelchair accessible music and arts venue at 213-214 Edward Place SE8 5HD THE CRISIS: From Liv, Grace & Sonia, On Friday 31st October, there was a flash flood in Deptford, and we found ourselves with water pouring in through the lighting fixtures, damaging our electrics and sound system. We have been forced to close for one of the busiest weekends of the year, losing thousands of pounds in income, and are now having to fight our landlords for support with the leak. We are asking all our allies for support as we try and reignite the crowdfunder to reflect the new expensive work that needs to take place, and the gear we need to replace. Thank you in advance for your support so far, and your support going forward. If you have any ideas with getting media attention, or fundraising - please get in touch on [email protected] Even if you like myself have not previously visited this venue, supporting small not for profit venues are vital to the life blood of what 'commmunity' is all about.
