There will be a short 4 week Buddhist Meditation course starting on Thursday 17th September 2015 with Jonathan Clark .

The benefits of Meditation are numerous and well documented and during this course you will gain understanding of how this ancient practice can help make life in the 21st century a bit less complicated and easier to deal with.

The evenings will consist of practising Buddhist meditation techniques including mindfulnesss and metta bhavana (loving kindness). There will be plenty of scope for questions and discussion. The course is fine for total beginners who are curious and want to have a try as well as a great opportunity for the more experienced to reconnect with meditation and spend a bit longer than usual practising. It is a lovely peaceful way of spending time outside of the usual routines.

Jonathan Clark (Suddhaka) has been studying Buddhist meditation since 1992, studying with teachers from the Indian and Tibetan traditions. He was ordained into the Western Buddhist Order (Triratna)in 2001 and has been teaching meditation at Buddhist Centres in London and India since 1998. He is the Chairman and manager of the Brixton Buddhist Centre where he teaches weekly classes. He also teaches regular MBSR Courses at the Goose Green Clinic in East Dulwich.

    • Thanks for your reply. I’ve subscribed to Ancestry a few times in the past but felt I wasn’t using it enough to warrant keeping up the subscription.
    • Hi, I saw your post and just wanted to say that the incident you’re referring to did happen in the late 1980s at Dawson’s Heights. The person involved was named Carl Salawa, and he had just turned 18 years old at the time. Like you, I haven’t been able to find any news articles or official reports about it, If anyone remembers anything more about that time or incident, I’d really appreciate hearing about it. Thanks for sharing what you were told—it means a lot to know others remember.
    • Was anyone else disturbed last night/early hours this morning by the party going on in someone’s garden on Crystal Palace road. Can’t see what house exactly but it’s around number 43 - 41… it was happening quite frequently last year. Seems it’s starting again! Very inconsiderate.
