WTF - why is it so hard to find a pub in East Dulwich this afternoon showing the rugby world cup games on a decent size screen with the sound on! I get that there is football on too, but surely the pubs could find someway of ensuring that at least one place is doing the rugby games justice. Its the World Cup - the chance for the minnows to have a bite at the big boys - Japan beating South Africa being a wonderful example. We should be making the most of these games whilst we host the tournament.

Used to see the KCHRFU down the Bishop all the time.

And 6 Nations EDT used to be one of the big London pubs to watch

(was known as so on Wales rugby forums).

Its exactly that apathetic attitude to the biggest sporting event this country has hosted since the Olympics that annoys me. Yes, more people play & follow football, but maybe, just maybe we should just try to get behind this event, and all it brings, instead of telling people to "go to Putney".

We've got 2 international teams training in our area (Australia & Romania both at Dulwich college) and things like this:

going on. So, if it means I may need to miss a Crystal palace game in the pub one night, I'm quite happy to do so

    • Beglfire I start, I have a lot of respect for Doctors and owe my life to them after various mishaps over the years.  I am however getting a jaded view of them continuing to run the strike ballot next week in the middle of what is turning into a bad winter for the NHS. Of course they may vote to not strike, but personally feel it is irresponsible timing to consider it as hospitals are already struggling.  Today the BMA warned of scaremongering over the current flu outbreak (BBC News - BMA warns of flu 'scaremongering' ahead of doctor strikes - BBC News https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c5y22yzl6y6o) but just seeing how many people I know are going down with it, that feels like poor spin by the BMA. How do others feel ?
