85volga
WTF - why is it so hard to find a pub in East Dulwich this afternoon showing the rugby world cup games on a decent size screen with the sound on! I get that there is football on too, but surely the pubs could find someway of ensuring that at least one place is doing the rugby games justice. Its the World Cup - the chance for the minnows to have a bite at the big boys - Japan beating South Africa being a wonderful example. We should be making the most of these games whilst we host the tournament. Mick Mac
Agree. Some good games all weekend probably not being shown but that's the market. Chief
Why don't you go to Putney, Twickenham or wherever to watch the rugby on pub televisions. People in East Dulwich prefer football, as do most people. katanita
Didn't the Flying Pig have a sign saying they were showing all the games? Or was it just the England games? Think I also saw the screen in the Lordship Pub with the game on when I went past on Sunday.I do miss Hoopers for the rugby :( Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/75672-rugby-world-cup-in-east-dulwich/#findComment-904408 Share on other sites
JohnL
Well Bishop facebook says"All RWC games shown here & to top it off you can get your mate a free Guinness!" Not sure what conditions are to get a free Guinness - maybe pay double for the first one :). Yes, more people play & follow football, but maybe, just maybe we should just try to get behind this event, and all it brings, instead of telling people to "go to Putney".We've got 2 international teams training in our area (Australia & Romania both at Dulwich college) and things like this: going on. So, if it means I may need to miss a Crystal palace game in the pub one night, I'm quite happy to do so Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/75672-rugby-world-cup-in-east-dulwich/#findComment-905215 Share on other sites
slarti b
I think Dulwich Plough is showing all the games as well. They certainly had a game on last night ( France v Romania) though was a bit drowned out by live music. http://www.theploughdulwich.co.uk/offers/rugbyworldcup Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/75672-rugby-world-cup-in-east-dulwich/#findComment-905515 Share on other sites
