I try and rinse most things to cut down on smells, but olive oil bottles get left alone. I'm sure everything gets thoroughly rinsed as part of the recycling process anyway. It would be good to know if households rinsing is the greenest way to recycle stuff or not though i.e. is more water used up by individuals rinsing than the amount of water used in the recycling plant process?...

    • Most of the groceries shops in Lordship Lane have a security presence…curious thing is I and another woman recently saw a shop lifter lift and not pay for a couple of packet of steaks, veg and bottle of wine..  Literally walked Pat the tills, one member of staff and security guard despite someone else going in front by a few people and mentioning person in question! I have to say, speechless and admired their bravado - I would not have the guts and knowing my luck, if I accidentally didn’t put something tru the till despite receipt would prob get stopped! Yes, worked with families, homeless and other people who were struggling for food so I do understand why they do it.. sad when you think about it, that in this day and age, all sorts of c people need assistance and help from community in general, food banks, olio etc….
