Recommendation wanted for Christmas Eve Dinner

Hi, does anyone know if any local restaurants or pubs serving food are open for dinner on Christmas Eve? We struggled to find somewhere that served past lunchtime last year.

Hi just saw post from Cherry Tree advertising being open on Christmas Day so they might be open! I CANNOT vouch for the food merely passing on that they are open on Christmas Day (argggh!) Alternatively have you thought about getting in a caterer to do it for you in your own home (I would offer but probably be in Scotland!) You usually can get someone who would cook to your requirements and either work in your home or drop off & leave you with instructions how to heat up etc.

Come to the Cherry Tree. New owners and new managers. Recently refurbished we have a very large pub, real fires in a beautiful old building. Here's our menu for Christmas eve. We are open on Christmas day too

Potato soup (with foie gras ?2.50 extra)

Pigeon & pork terrine, remoulade, sourdough

Peckham gin cured salmon, pickled cucumber, lemon, horseradish

Pear, stilton, pickled walnut, endive salad

Goats curd & squash ravioli, sage butter

Plate of jamon serrano (?2.50 extra)

Turkey & the trimmings

Braised ox cheek, suet dumplings

Venison haunch, red cabbage, celeriac dauphinoise, chocolate & juniper sauce

Seabass fillet, salsify, brown shrimp butter, almonds & kale

Jerusalem artichoke, wild mushroom & berkswell gratin

Chocolate & orange pot, shortbread

Lemon polenta cake, poached quince

Clementine trifle
