Cheaper, quicker, friendlier alternative to replacing double glazing

PEARSON GLAZING in Peckham - 020 7732 1511.

I have 20+ year old aluminium double glazing. On three of the windows, the hinges and levers had buckled and I was unable to open / close these windows. Had quotes from other local double glazing firms who told me the whole window unit needs replacing. As the estimated cost for this was around two thousand, it was outside my budget.

Happened to drive by Pearsons in Peckham, noticed that they replaced hinges. Same week appointment, really polite, knowledgeable, friendly lads who had the job done in just over an hour costing just under ?300.

Windows good as new.

On a slight down/upside depending on your viewpoint, one of the lads made a small crack in the window as he was refitting. He came straight in to tell me, measured up came back later the same day and REPLACED THE WHOLE DOUBLE GLAZING WINDOW unit and threw in wedges that were missing on other windows all free of charge.

Cannot fault the work ethic, highly recommended.

    • I assumed they were somehow connected to or or supporters of Reform..this assumption is based on the fact when confronted by two of their collectors at Marylebone Station early one morning (around 7.30am) in the summer and I refused to donate one of them said "Don't you care about Army Veterans? Are you a Muslim? Don't you care about England?" I told them to F**k Off I may be old I may be small but I won't stand for Racism or Biggotry in any form. The whole term 'Blighty' smacks of Reform and flag waving racists

    • Any cyclist using Nairne Grove should have noticed the dangerous school streets bollard which was missing its metal cover, leaving it extremely dangerous to cyclists due to its ridiculous location on the corner. I'm amazed it hadn't been dealt with before but I reported it to the Council and within a few days it was sorted. As someone who broke a bone in a fall onto tarmac not long ago, I hope no one was injured in the meantime.  In future anyone can easily report dangerous road defects using:  https://www.fillthathole.org.uk/
