Wanhope
Does anyone have a chainsaw they'd be willing to hire locally for a couple of hours? We'd be happy to pay small fee -- maybe around ?10? Pls PM if you might be able to help. Thanks. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/81193-chainsaw-hire/ Share on other sites
DulwichFox
?10.00 is very optimistic. 1 days hire is ?109.40 inc. VAT from Brandon Hire nearest branch Croydon.. http://www.brandontoolhire.co.uk/en/landscaping-and-gardening/257-chainsaws.html One has to consider insurance against breakage and injury and that the tool is safe to use.. Be very careful using chainsaws .. DulwichFox. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/81193-chainsaw-hire/#findComment-920707 Share on other sites
ebodad
I was in aldi today and saw chainsaws for sale at ?49 I think. I can't say what the quality was like but I guess it depends on the difficulty of your job. Duvaller
I support what Foxy has said and would add that an inexperienced user is at risk of damaging himself and the saw in an instant.I am amazed at the number of people here who want to borrow powered tools on the EDF. Any experienced handyman or crafts man would NEVER lend his tools or equipment out to anyone else. They would much rather ( as I do frequently) go round with their equipment and do the actual job for the enquirer. It's safer, quicker and more rewarding than putting one's kit into the hands of someone who might not how to use it and might not appreciate its worth.Over the years I have built up a wide range of equipment which I have purchased myself to do jobs where other people might pay to use a contractor. I always did my research on the job to be done, learned how to do it and then bought the kit and materials.I have saved myself a fortune by doing this and the cost savings involved repaid the cost of the kit many many times over.
