Hi,

I'm training for a sub 4 hr marathon (Brighton 2016) and would like someone local to run with once a week / fortnight. Tempo runs are my nemesis so finding someone to have a friendly yet competitive running partnership with would be great. My current weekly mileage is 20 in total, I've completed one 26.2, two 13.1 and one 10km.

I work freelance so flexible over times. I live close to Goose Green and know some great longer routes for December / January. Anyone starting spring training in November get in touch!

Hi Catherine,

I just registered for a sub 4h marathon in April and would be more than happy to have a running partner - especially for tempo runs and the long jogs later in the training. I live Underhill Road/Lordship Lane. As I'm working in the centre I could do evenings and weekends. Let me know if you want to go for a run this Saturday or Sunday.

    • Thanks for your feedback - we always appreciate hearing from members about their experience. The pool temperature at JAGS Sports Club is maintained at 29oC, in line with industry guidelines for mixed-use pools.  This temperature has been designed to balance comfort for lane swimmers and families. Air temperature is also monitored regularly to ensure a comfortable environment for swimmers, spectators and staff. The shower Temperature Mixing Valves (TMVs) were changed in December to improve consistency, and we hope this has made a noticeable difference. If you would like to discuss your experience in more detail, please contact us directly at [email protected] or 020 8613 6500 and we'll be really happy to help.
    • One wonders if he would have defected if he had, ahem, held on to the leadership of Southwark and whether he felt that "Labour are no longer the vehicle for social justice" during his leadership election........my how quickly things change in the thoughts of a politician 😉 I think this sums things up quite nicely: A senior Southwark Labour spokesperson hit back: “Local residents can draw their own conclusions about Cllr McAsh’s swift move from Labour leadership hopeful to the Green Party, after he didn’t get his own way. While he’s thinking about his own career, Southwark Labour are delivering for residents.” One wonders if he will stand as a Green candidate in Goose Green.
    • No doubt if he determines to stand for a ward he will enlighten us - at least his track record is one of using this site to communicate (inter alia). I would suspect that (1) his personal views on traffic will have remained consistent but that (2) his views on local democracy and proper consultation will have as well.
    • Yes, but I want to know where he stands on all this stuff now. My feeling is it won't be any different from Labour?
