foam bed guards

hi has anyone tried these? what are they like? we have a tomy bed guard for at home which works really well but we are looking for something a bit more portable for going away from home. We have no car so always travel by public transport and train so taking the tomy one isnt an option. We found one on the internet that is foam pieces that you put under the sheet and it stops them rolling out. Has anyone tried them? they look great and lightweight but always good to get other peoples opinions.

Also has anyone had them and about to get rid of them would buy them off you if you think they were good. thanks leanne

Not tried foam guards, but when travelling with no bed guard I find a few big books (which most houses have) placed under the mattress at the side creates enough of a slope so as to prevent said child rolling out. Cheap too!

Can you get the foam guards in the UK? I seem to recall finding them a while back when I was hunting for travel friendly options but only on American sites, which was really annoying.

They looked good to me.

hi ive only found them on ebay but it is an ebay shop so all products are brand new.

they are selling them for ?10 a strip or another was selling them 4 for ?29 so not too bad.

just one of those things that would be good to know how good before you buy.

Just resurrecting this thread as I am considering getting these and wondered if anyone had used them?

I am specifically interested in how well they fit under a standard fitted sheet or do I need to buy the extra deep sheets?

Yes, I used them for ages, cosleeping in a double bed to guard the outside edge, and also at first when toddlers slept alone in singles on holiday.

They are pretty effective, they do stop a child rolling out though a small child can still

Leap head first off the bed if they wish to. No fears about a baby getting its head stuck round a bed guard though.

Buy one long one nearly as big as the bed. They don't fit well under standard fitted sheets, unfortunately.

We bought some a couple of years ago for a holiday. Seemed to do the job. Not perfect under a normal sheet but workable depending on how long you use them for.

As an alternative, for portability the blow up ones are good. Need to buy the specific sheet though as the blow up tubes fit in them.
