GregI
I presume you're referring to the map hereThe map is an official TfL publication showing the conversion and extension of the existing East London Line to West Croydon (due start 2010) and Clapham Junction (due 2012) as part of the London Overgrond network. As far as I'm aware, everything apart from the new station at Surrey Canal Road has secured funding in place already.Laurie Egglestone (pointlessly) has also added the current South London Line in purple in an attempt to argue that it should be marketed under the TfL brand. He also wrongly suggests that Oyster PAYG is currently valid on this route. sophiesofa
This is probably a stupid question but here goes: I thought it wasn't an official map because the east london line isn't technically a tube line so would only be on the extended tram, train etc maps? It's in the same line style as the DLR so I'm confused, is it somewhere in between a tube and a trainline? sophiesofa
Sorry just re-read the posts and I find Laurie Egglestone (pointlessly) has also added the current South London Line in purple in an attempt to argue that it should be marketed under the TfL brand.a bit mean. I found it helpful to see the route. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/8305-rail-query/#findComment-256209 Share on other sites
GregI
Hi Sophie,The East London Line used to a tube line (tube carriages) which has now been converted to London Overground (standard rail carriages) which is part of Transport for London so I guess that's why it appears on the map.On reflection, I probably was unfair to say the purple line addition was pointless as I, myself, like to occasionally dabble with a fantasy map alteration!
