Hi

Can anyone tell me where the venue (and what time) is for the Overview & Scrutiny Committee (OSC) meeting, which will be conducting the scrutiny on East Dulwich Primary Places proposed date 12th October?

Is it an open forum (i.e. a question time type format?), or a closed meeting? Do you need an invite?

Searched on the forum but can't seem to find this info.

Thanks

Hello

The Overview and Scrutiny Committee meeting on Monday October 12 2009 7.00 pm.

Its at the East Dulwich Community Centre, 46-64 Darrell Road, East Dulwich, London SE22 9NL.

According to FionaC

"We will take brief deputations from parents and local cllrs at the beginning to tell the committee about their experiences this year, concerns for next yr and what they'd like to see happen"

Further details on...

Hoping for good turn out as a show of local feeling.

The meeting is at East Dulwich Community Centre, Darrell Road SE22 9NL 7pm Monday 12th October.

The Scrutiny Committee has the power to question Council Officers and Leading Councillors about the situation and why they have taken certain decisions. It cannot itself take a decision. It is therefore a useful way of the public expressing their concerns.

I am pleased they have agreed to take deputations.

My main concern is that the room is not big enough so if you have a real personal concern you want to get across I suggest you arrive early.

After the meeting someone should start a new thread about what happened and the way forward.

    • Thanks all!  KateS - boulangerie Jade is a nice cafe, but they don't do fresh cream cakes. Their eclairs are filled with patisserie cream (a kind of custard), not fresh cream. Azalea- thanks and I've been to Bunhead Bakery (a Palestinian bakery) in Herne Hill a few times. There's a nice chocolate bun they do, which is amazing when then sauce is warmed up. But I haven't seen any fresh cream things there, only white icing. Maybe it's only on a certain day.  And the last time I checked, Ayres bakers in Nunhead don't do fresh cream things. These are the kind of fresh baked goods I'm thinking of....
    • Warning to parents using the playground in Dulwich Park. My daughter and her friends found a bag of ‘crunchy powder’ in the children’s playground this morning around 11ish. They thought it was ‘popping candy’ and all tried some before seen with it. Request to parents using the playground - if you see plastics bags with suspect looking contents or powder on the floor in the playground or park: pick it up and throw it in the bin. Don’t walk past and think someone else will deal with it. The next person to walk by might be a child who could pick it up not understanding what it could be. Hopefully our daughter and her friends will be ok and it’s a lucky escape. But please be aware in case anyone else’s child may have found it before them.
    • I’m looking for some ply sheets, ideally 9mm or 12mm. It doesn’t have to look good. As long as it’s not rotten it’ll be fine. I’d like bigger sheets, but I’m open to whatever anyone’s got. If you can help, drop me a DM.  Cheers
    • the only known name is from that poster in the window where it says to email [email protected]. I thought that website might shed some light on who is creating the posters I hope whoever was attacked is doing ok, but agree there is something very off/vigilante-ish about all of this
