judith.arkwright@hot
I am going to Calais in December and want to take stuff over for the migrants and do some volunteering. They particularly need tarpaulins- to provide extra shelter as winter draws in.Does anyone know anywhere I might be able to get a good deal on tarpaulins or any suggestions? Thanks Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/84363-help-for-migrants-in-calais/ Share on other sites
Azira
I got some good ones on Amazon, but you might be better off changing the title of your thread as I would have had no idea what you were looking for at first glance. Do you hate this country of ours? Are you doing this pathetic and totally unwarranted 'good deed' to make yourself feel better about yourself? Why not just ask where to get cheap taup's - was it relevant to include the rest of your post? Have you been in a coma for 3 weeks and missed what happened in Paris? Why don't YOU bring back some 18-35 year old male immigrants and house them in your own home? Sorry to ask but I am really struggling to understand what it is that motivates people like you in the face of the overwhelming evidence that these must be amongst the single most undeserving 'refugees' in the history of mankind.PS Before you start with all the 'racist' rubbish, I am mixed race and my mother came to the UK as an immigrant in the 50's. Angelina
I concur - there are plenty of vulnerable homeless people in London who need support. This cold weather and cold nights - there are plenty of opportunities to helphttp://www.homelessuk.org/details.asp?id=QA40Or mungoeshttp://www.mungosbroadway.org.uk/how_you_can_help/volunteer Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/84363-help-for-migrants-in-calais/#findComment-931797 Share on other sites

curlykaren
Perhaps Judith already spends time doing volunteer work in this country? Even if she didn't we are all free to chose the causes which move and motivate us. Some really vile comments above, perhaps you should spend some time pondering what moves and motivates you? IVAN EDAKE
Excuse me but could you kindly highlight which 'vile comments' you are referring to. I have re-read my post and am afraid that I can not identify any. Many thanks. curlykaren
I'm surprised you thought my comments were directed towards you Sean? But, as I said, we don't know what support Judith may/may not give to other good causes. People are perfectly capable of being concerned about more than one thing. DulwichFox
The migrants in Calais are not seeking a safe haven. They are safe in France. They have passed through several countries to get to Calais. They are not all refugees from Syria. Amongst them are those seeking financial benefits. There is a real possibility that terrorists could use this route to gain access to the UK. Its not just a case of opening the door and letting everyone into the UK. The security of the UK is a real concern.
