Parent & Toddler Taekwondo (martial art) classes in the Bussey building, Peckham Rye

Wednesday's 10:15-11:00, ?5 per class

Taekwondo classes with 3rd Dan black belt Instructor Daniel Walters; Commonwealth Silver medallist and National Champion 2013, focused around learning Taekwondo basics in a fun way.

Classes are structured to introduce the kicking, blocking, striking, stances and movement techniques at the heart of this martial art. Obstacle courses, exercises and stretching are all part of the fun. Sessions are designed to enhance motor skills, coordination, balance, listening skills, Taekwondo techniques and to prepare toddlers for our 4yrs+ classes later down the line.

We practice WTF (World Taekwondo Federation) style Taekwondo, the same as the Olympics.

Our older classes consist of 3 main elements of Taekwondo; Martial art, Sport & self defence.

Students learn all three elements & have the opportunity to grade (take exams) and compete. Our toddler and parent sessions introduce a little from all three elements.

    • Crikey, seems like GMs haven't improved in the over twelve years since this thread was started 😮 Is there some professional body where  you could report this awful experience? Sounds like a trainee who hadn't even begun their training (and should probably be considering a different career). Was there no supervision? Did you ask for somebody else to rectify it? At the very very least they should refund you and give you free sessions until it is back to looking like what you asked for. I have twice had this happen (years ago), once at a branch of Charles Worthington and once at some long forgotten place, and in both cases it was rectified free by someone else (once it had grown back  a bit). I highly recommend Kuki in Bellenden Road. It isn't cheap, but I have been going there since it opened and I have  never had a bad experience there. I  have only ever had Shingo, who is excellent (but on holiday at the moment) but to the best of my knowledge the others are good too. https://kukihair.com/
    • Malumbu, that's great that you are so helpful and honest, but sadly not everybody around is. And some of us are crap at DIY and would be better off not attempting most of it.  I can wire a plug, unblock a u-bend and paint a wall,  but that's about it. Mind you some of the people I have paid didn't seem to be much better, unfortunately. Can you say more about the LETS scheme? Who regulates it, and how?
    • You are not the only one. I visited GM's Hair Salon last Sunday and had possibly the worst haircut of my life. It began badly when the stylist didn't mix the dye correctly so it wasn't colouring my hair uniformly. Instead of stopping to fix this she went straight into the cutting. I was very clear in telling her that I didn't want my hair cut too short but she ignored this instruction, attacking my hair with the clippers without once stopping to check if I was happy. She had a particular problem getting the sides of equal length but she just kept on cutting making both sides far too short. I asked her to comb my hair backwards but she combed it forward. I asked her to cut my hair at the back in a point but she ignored me again and did the opposite. The fringe at the front wasn't straight either. As if all this wasn't bad enough she didn't use a cutting collar so I got hairs all down my back and she cut my right ear (twice) and I left the salon wearing a bandage. The salon didn't seem too busy when I visited – staff outnumbered clients – so I don't understand why an employee with no idea how to cut short hair, inexperience with clippers and unable to follow instructions was allowed to work on me. An apology or a refund for a visibly atrocious haircut would have been welcome but neither was forthcoming. I will never set foot in GM's Hair Salon again.
